Class F Fires

Class F Fires are caused by cooking oils and fats and more likely occur within kitchens or food preparation areas.

Some frequent scenarios for class F fire’s are when a pan of hot oil is left unattended and overheats or if a fatty build up on the kitchen surface is ignited by a spark from a kitchen appliance.

  • Foam fire extinguishers are suitable for use on class A solid combustible fires (wood, paper, textiles) and class B flammable liquid fires (petrol, diesel, paint, solvents).
